 About SoapBespoke
SoapBespoke was founded by Pauline Southam in 2009 and produces wonderfully luxurious, unique handmade soaps. We aim for our customers to include award-winning, luxury hotels and spas from the corporate perspective. However, we also have dozens of brides who use our products as gifts to their wedding guests or mums who treat their family to personalised products. What makes these gifts so special is that the smell and memory are so closely intertwined that, when their family and friends use the soaps, they will be reminded of the wedding day or the anniversary, while at the same time delaying the ageing of their skin.
Pauline has recently added an exclusive range of homemade bathing products, including luxury body butter and other treats. More gorgeous products are still to come including scented massage candles. Check the product page for more information. |

 About the Founder
SoapBespoke founder Pauline Southam has been a competition swimmer, dress maker, teacher of typing and she even completed a trek in the Arctic, monitoring Polar Bears for the Norwegian Polar Institute in 2009. She started her career as a secretary in the Government (property sector) and went on to spend some 20 years in the banking sector arranging PR events for clients and including 12 years in the real estate division before moving into property specific companies, eventually starting her own property development and management company. However, in 2009 her creative talents beckoned and SoapBespoke was born.
Pauline has trained to be a fully qualified soap maker and holds a Certificate of Glycerine and Soapmaking Skills qualification. She is a member of the Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers and is a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.

 About our Soap
Our soaps have been certified by one of the most senior toxicologists in the United Kingdom. The important ingredient in our soaps, Glycerine, is hailed as one of the best kept secrets to retain moisture between skin layers and every bar of SoapBespoke soaps contains approximately one third of Glycerine. Glycerine helps to prevent wrinkles and dryness and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin types. It has been used in its raw form by ancient societies and records of its medicinal use also date back to the Iron Age.
Traces of glycerine can be found in very small doses of some everyday household products but it was originally used by our ancestors as a natural healing remedy in its raw form. This made Pauline look at the reasons why we have limited its use in our beauty products and it seems the beauty industry has strayed from the best known source of moisture retention and hydration to sell it as a by-product, where it is more profitable to them. Cleansing with Glycerine is by far the best ingredient for helping to prevent drying and will plump out wrinkles, which is basically dehydrated skin.
